Lanarkshire Law Practice is proud to share that our CEO, Lynsey Millar, has been named Law Firm of the Year (Small) – Female Leader at the BWS Women in Law Awards, held on Thursday 12 March 2026.

This national award recognises outstanding leadership, innovation and client service across the legal sector, with entries from firms across Scotland and the wider UK.

For us, this is a proud moment not just for Lynsey, but for the whole team.

A proud moment for Lanarkshire

Lynsey, who is originally from Lanarkshire, has led significant growth within the business in recent years, helping transform a traditional high street practice into a modern, multi-office firm while keeping the same strong focus on client care and local service.

Since taking over leadership in 2019, the business has:

• grown from 5 to 24 staff
• achieved significant revenue growth, reinvested into the business and its staff
• successfully acquired and grown a second practice
• continued to invest in technology, systems and client service

Despite that growth, the firm has stayed firmly rooted in the local community, continuing to provide accessible legal services across Lanarkshire and beyond.

Recognition for a people-first approach

Speaking after receiving the award, Lynsey said:

“This is a real achievement for the whole team. There are some excellent firms across Glasgow and Scotland, so to be recognised at this level means a lot to us.”

She added:

“What we’ve built has always been about people — both our clients and our staff. The growth we’ve had has come from putting the right values in place and having a team who genuinely care about what they do.”

Inspired by helping others

Lynsey’s decision to pursue a career in law was shaped at a young age, following a serious accident involving her father.

She said:

“The support my family received from our solicitor stayed with me. It showed me the difference you can make to people’s lives at difficult times, and that’s something I’ve carried with me throughout my career.”

That approach continues to shape how the firm supports clients today across conveyancing, executry, family matters and a wide range of legal services.

Looking ahead

This award is an important milestone for the firm, but it is also part of a much bigger journey.

With further expansion planned and continued investment in both people and technology, Lanarkshire Law Practice remains focused on building on its recent success while maintaining its strong local presence and values.
